ICMG Securities Limited was incorporated in 1992 to focus on the Investment Banking and Asset Management business of International Capital Markets Group Limited (ICMG), whose main business was Issuance and Trading of Debt Instruments of emerging markets. 
 
ICMG is registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), to carry on the business of Broker/Dealer, Issuing House and Asset Management, and is a Dealing Member of the Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE). 
 
Its Asset Management activities include managing funds for major Institutional Investors e.g. Shell (Nigeria) Trustees, Dunlop Nigeria PLC etc. Prior to the Pension Act 2004, it also acted as Adviser to other pension funds. For instance, ICMG was one of the companies selected in 2001 to manage the huge pension portfolio of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for both Local and Overseas Investments.

The Company pioneered the trading of Foreign Currency-denominated Securities on the floor of the NSE (See 3.1 below), and was one of the first securities trading companies to deal in Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Treasury Bills.
